Cost: $50 per class or $160 in total (a 20% discount) when registering in all four classes.
The Level Up program runs Mondays from 6:00pm-8:00pm, beginning April 19th.
We recommend riders take all four courses to receive maximal benefit from this program. It is not mandatory to take all the courses though, so sign up for what is of most interest to you.
Downtime - April 19th @ Ellison Provincial Park
Most people would agree that riding a bike down a hill is funner than up. However, without using the correct techniques, descending can be a frightening and dangerous experience. This session will focus on skills like the proper use of brakes, being more stable and balanced on the bike and choosing safer lines to ride on the trail.
Climbtime-April 26th @ Ellison Provincial Park
Make the ups more efficient so you'll have more energy to rip the downs. We'll teach you a variety of techniques to increase your enjoyment and fun when climbing up the trails.
Cornertime-May 3rd @ Ellison Provincial Park
Maintaining speed and traction through downhill corners is tough for many riders. This session will teach students the techniques to navigate through corners with increased commitment and control.
Flowtime-May 10 @ Becker Bike Skill Park.
Smooth out the trail by learning to pump, hop, wheelie and fly over obstacles that get in your way! We'll also teach you some fundamental jumping skills and how to ride bermed/banked corners with more speed and control.
These courses are for 19+ riders with a skill level 2 (based on our ability chart) with reasonable physical fitness. Students should plan to ride approximately 8-12km per session on a mix of beginner and intermediate trails.
The Ellison trail network contains mostly mellow and rolling terrain, however some upper trails are more rocky. Depending on the skill level of the group, we may ride some of the upper trail network. The Becker Bike Skills park has 2 small pump tracks, small jumps and a short intermediate flow trail
Our classes provide a supportive environment to push yourself a bit and try new things, but we'll never make anyone ride something they are truly afraid of. If there is a section of trail you'd prefer to walk or scope out before attempting, feel free to do so. Group sizes are limited to 6 students per coach to provide a personalized and focused learning experience.
