Level Up

Helping beginner riders level up to confident intermediates

4 Tuesdays from 6pm-8pm

$285 for all four clinics (8 hours of instruction)

Suitable Ability Level : 2

Age 19+, All genders welcome

Downtime - April 23 @ Ellison Provincial Park

Most people would agree that riding a bike down a hill is more fun than going up. However, without using the correct techniques, descending can be a frightening and dangerous experience. This session will focus on skills like the proper use of brakes, being more stable and balanced on the bike and choosing safer lines to ride on the trail.

Climbtime - April 30 @ Ellison Provincial Park

Make the ups more efficient so you'll have more energy to rip the downs. We'll teach you a variety of techniques to increase your enjoyment and fun when climbing up the trails.

Cornertime - May 7 @ Ellison Provincial Park

Maintaining speed and traction through corners is difficult for most riders. This session will teach students the techniques to navigate through descending and ascending corners with increased commitment and control.

Flowtime - May 14 @ Becker Bike Skills Park

Smooth out the trail by learning to pump, hop, wheelie and fly over obstacles that get in your way! We'll also teach you some fundamental jumping skills and how to ride bermed/banked corners with more speed and control.

The Ellison trail network contains mostly mellow and rolling terrain, with the upper trails being rockier. Depending on the skill level of the group, we may ride some of the upper trail network. The Becker Bike Skills park has 2 small pump tracks, small jumps and a short intermediate flow trail

What the Tech ?

For intermediate riders keen to conquer the rougher trails of Kal Park

May 28 and June 4 from 6pm-8pm

Cost: $175

Suitable Ability Level: 2-3

Age 19+, All genders welcome

Location: Vernon's Kalamalka Lake Provincial Park, Cougar Canyon lot

Kal park has some technical and steep trails that are intimidating to many riders and usually aren't their go-to choices. Let us coach you through how to ride them confidently so they become part of your regular route!

These type of trails require an understanding and application of more advanced skills to ride them safely and in control. If you would like to learn these skills to keep your trail flow going, then spend 2 evenings with us and learn to tackle these tougher tracks!

You'll learn:

- Maintaining speed through loose and rocky downhill turns.

- Advanced braking methods to control speed when dealing with difficult trail features, like loose dirt and steep rock gardens.

- Choosing better lines to smooth out the trail and maintain momentum

- Increasing your range of motion to become a more fluid and active bike handler.

- Further development of the “attack/ready” and “neutral” body positions so they are used at the proper time on more challenging terrain.

Classes will begin at the Cougar Canyon parking lot and take place on such trails as Twista, Serendiptiy, Achrophobia, Black Powder and maybe 36DD.
